The History Department offers the Master of Arts with a major in History, Master of Arts with a concentration in Public History, and a Ph.D. in Public History. Application deadline for the M.A.: March 15 for Fall admission; October 15 for Spring admission. |
To be admitted to the Master of Arts in History program, a student must submit the
following to the College of Graduate Studies:
Online application and appropriate application fee
Official transcript of all colleges, universities (including business and technical schools). If the transcripts are issued from an international (non-US) institution, a course-by course analysis is required. Original non-US transcripts should be submitted directly to the evaluation service. Official Test Scores of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
Letter of Intent explaining why the applicant wishes to pursue graduate education in History at MTSU
Writing Sample (preferably a lengthy research paper)
Three Letters of Recommendation addressing the applicant's potential to successfully complete an M.A. program
