The Mental Health Counseling concentration is a 61-hour degree program designed to train students to work in mental health settings. Students may specialize in counseling children and adolescents or adults. Students who complete the concentration in mental health counseling will have met the educational requirements for licensure as professional counselors with mental health service provider (MHSP) designation in the state of Tennessee.

Admission Requirements:

To be admitted to the Master of Education in Professional Counseling [Mental Health Counseling] program,
a student must submit the following to the College of Graduate Studies:

Online application and appropriate application fee

Official transcript of all colleges, universities (including business and technical schools). If the transcripts are issued from an international (non-US) institution, a course-by course analysis is required. Original non-US transcripts should be submitted directly to the evaluation service.
