"The gentlemen of Alpha Gamma Rho take pride in each other and all that they do as they strive as brothers to make better men."
Alpha Gamma Rho was founded as an agricultural fraternity in 1904 at Ohio State University and the University of Illinois. Its purpose is “to make better men and through them a broader and better agriculture. . . “ In the nearly 100 years since its founding, Alpha Gamma Rho has certainly lived up to its purpose. There are over 64 chapters at universities throughout the nation and thousands of brothers involved in worldwide agriculture. Some outstanding brothers of AGR include Orville Redenbacher, innovator of popcorn products; Lee L. Morgan, chairman and CEO of the Caterpillar Tractor Company; and Clifford M. Hardin, former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.

Alpha Gamma Rho is the only national fraternity on campus that is both a professional fraternity and a social fraternity. As a professional fraternity, AGR promotes career development during college and after graduation. Mixers with sororities, intramural sports, philanthropic events, and fundraising for the chapter are just some of the social events in which we participate. AGR does not have a pledging process; new members join brothers as equal members of the fraternity. Combined with a strict no-hazing policy, this is usually very appealing to potential recruits.
Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity offers a variety of experiences that will help you develop better mental, social, moral and physical qualities. Our brothers are the most down-to-earth good ol’ boys you will ever meet.
