At Middle Tennessee State University, a sorority is more than
letters on a sweatshirt. A sorority is more than traditional
songs, gold pins, rituals, and something to do on a Friday night.
A sorority is learning about people. It is giving without
expecting a return. A sorority is earning respect from others, as
well as yourself. A sorority is for lifelong friends and gaining
the confidence needed to take life one step at a time. A sorority
is about being a leader, a scholar, a servant, and a sister. A
sorority is about being something more.
The National Panhellenic Conference is
composed of twenty six sororities. The Panhellenic Council at
MTSU is composed of two delegates from each sorority; an
Executive Board consisting of a President, Vice-President of
Internal Affairs, Secretary, and Treasurer; Vice-President of
Recruitment, Assistant Vice-President of Recruitment Director,
Rho Sigma Coordinator, Assistant Rho Sigma Coordinator, and three
elected offices including Programming Director, Scholarship
Director, and a Public Relations Director. Our Panhellenic is
truly unique with Panhellenic spirit and practically a sorority
within itself with sisterly bonds. The Council hosts programs for
all of the sororities to ensure a continuing bright future, and
they host Fall Recruitment, which provides everyone the chance to
experience a sisterhood that will last far beyond the college
experience.
MTSU Panhellenic Creed
We, as undergraduate members of women's fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities. We, as fraternity women, stand for service through development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
