Services

Student Health Services provides MTSU students with a wide variety of services including health education, sick visits, physicals, healthy skin visits, x-rays and lab work, travel and allergy clinic, women's health and specialty referrals as needed.

Eligibility

All currently registered MTSU students are eligible to receive care at Health Services. During the summer term, students who are not taking summer classes but were enrolled during the previous spring term and registered for the upcoming fall term, may use Health Services by paying a Summer Health Fee of $25 per visit plus any lab or medication fees incurred at the time of the visit. For allergy patients who are not enrolled during the summer term, but were enrolled during the previous spring term and registered for the upcoming fall term there is a one time $25 Summer Health Fee plus the standard allergy shot fee each visit.

Laboratory

To support our various services, we have a onsite laboratory. The laboratory enables us to perform diagnostic testing. Tests such as complete blood cell count, urinalysis, mononucleosis screen, strep throat screen, blood sugar screen, and pregnancy test are available at minimal cost. STD screening is also available, with specimens collected on site and sent to affiliated laboratories for analysis.

Medications and Medical Equipment

Many of the most commonly prescribed medications are dispensed from the MTSU Campus Pharmacy at a minimal cost to the student. If the appropriate medication is unavailable from our pharmacy, the doctor will write a prescription that can be filled at any retail pharmacy. Students can obtain crutches, splints, and slings deemed medically necessary from Student Health Services.

Specialists

Although Student Health Services can handle most needs, some illnesses or injuries require additional or specialized services. Student Health Services will help students obtain referral to the appropriate provider or services.
