RESEARCH INTEREST:
I am interested in youth activism from the 1930s to the present, particularly the activities of youth groups that are connected to the modern civil rights movement and antiwar protest. I am currently researching the activism of the NAACP youth councils and college chapters from 1936 to 1965. While the NAACP youth groups have received little scholarly attention, they have made significant contributions to civil rights struggles and antiwar protests across the United States.
