to outside groups. The months available are June 1 - July 31. Halls available for
2012 are Beasley, Cummings, Gracy, Judd, Mary, McHenry, Reynolds, Sims, Smith, and
Rutledge.
A " Request for Reservation" form must be filled out with the basic information and mail to:
MTSU Housing
c/o Joyce Vaughn
MTSU P.O. Box 6
Murfreesboro, TN 37132
The calendar is reviewed and correspondence is sent approving, not approving, or
conditionally approving space. This is followed by the "Summer Conference Agreement."
The "Summer Conference Agreement" must be read, signed, dated, and returned to confirm
these spaces. Spaces are not held without the proper paperwork received by Conference
Housing Office.
Rooms are air-conditioned, phone hook-up, Internet, and cable for those wishing to
bring a TV, computer, or phone instrument. There is a TV in a central location in
each hall. Rooms are double occupancy, two single beds to a room. There is a 24-hour
front desk in each area when the halls are occupied for that area.
Meals may be provided through ARA Food Service. You may contact them at 615-898-2675
or at www.mtdining.com
Linen may be provided at an additional charge. Linen charge depends on securing a
linen contract from an outside company. Cost varies year-to-year. A linen pack includes
2 sheets, 2 towels, 1 wash cloth, 1 pillowcase, 1 blanket, 1 mattress cover, and 1
pillow.
Outside groups that are not sponsored by a person and/or office on campus must contact
Events Coordination at 615-898-5002, e-mail at evtcoord@mtsu.edu or www.mtsu.edu/eventcoordination. The Events Coordination web site has a list of facilities, event services, forms,
policy, requesting space, webviewer calendar, and a contact form.
For those conferences that are sponsored by a person and/or office on campus you
must contact that person and/or office for details. Sponsors must fill out "Request
for Reservation" form and submit.
The final bill for housing is sent to the person/group listed on the "Request for
Reservation" form. The bill includes rent charges; linen charges, if applicable; lost
keys charges; damages; taxes, if applicable. If a group is tax exempt we must receive
a copy of the tax exempt certificate each year when the "Summer Conference Agreement"
is returned to the Conference Housing Office. Failure to receive the tax exempt will
result in sales tax being added. Other charges will be sent if used by those departments.
Lost keys charge is $58.44 per lock change. Damages are billed at the repairable
cost.
Attending a summer conference at MTSU provides the opportunity and experience of
residing in one of the Residents Halls at the fastest growing university in Tennessee.
Conference Housing office encourages all summer prospective students to live with
us in the halls. This gives you the opportunity to meet people from various cultures,
countries, and offers to you the experience of becoming part of a community.
