Jennifer Austin, a Child Development & Family Studies senior, in conjunction with Universities Fighting
World Hunger spearheaded a project called "Feed a Child, Feed a Dream" in the fall
if 2011. She collected $1320 in a spare change drive and donated the proceeds to the
Murfreesboro City and Wilson County School Back Pack Program.

Lauren Miller, a current IDES major, won the Undergraduate Poster Presentation at the 2011 AAFCS conference. Her poster presentation was "Designing a Quality Lighting Atmosphere". .
Lauren Miller was also nominated as one of MTSU's "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges", 2012 edition.

Charlotte Smith, current President of the MTSU AAFCS/PGS Student Organization & FCSE student, was awarded a grant to attend the 2011 Family Economics & Financial Education National June Educator Training, "Empowering Future Generations".
