MTSU has several site licenses and volume discount programs which allow MTSU employees to purchase software for their departmental computers at a reduced price. A list of software is available online.

An MTSU employee purchasing from the site license program has the right to use that product on one computer without paying other fees until he/she wishes to upgrade to a newer version, or the site license period expires.

The site license software typically does not include diskettes, cds or manuals. To fulfill documentation needs users have two options:

1. Use the online help available with each of the programs; or
2. Obtain third party manuals/books on the software (several are available from Phillips Bookstore).

Software orders are placed with ITD's Account Clerk ( software@mtsu.edu). An online order form is available. You will need the following information:

1. The number of copies you wish to purchase
2. The account number to which to charge the purchase
3. The location of the computer on which to install the software (e.g. the building and office number)
4. The MTSU inventory tag number for the computer on which the software will be installed.
5. A contact number where you can be reached.

New agreements are always in the process to make even more products available via software site licenses.

ITD conducts workshops for MTSU employees covering the use of various software programs.
