Save Time On Passwords (STOP)
When activating your computing account, you will be prompted to create a password. If the password you create fails the verification procedure, you will have to start over. The verification procedure is in place as a security measure.
STOP and check your password for the following:

- Does not contain any pattern found in the dictionary
- Does not contain any repeating characters or character groupings
How it works:
- You have to be currently admitted or admitted on probation to MTSU to use a student computing account on the academic server, "frank."
- You must activate your account before you can use either e-mail or web space services
- "Using the Web at MTSU" tells you how to create and publish your web page
- ITD's Information Technology Handbook for Students tells you how to use text-only e-mail clients ("Pine") and web browsers ("Lynx")
Activating your account:
To activate the account, go to https://mtsu20.mtsu.edu/itd/getcomputingaccount.htm and enter the requested information. The username and password you receive will be required to access frank, e-mail, and other computer-related tools.
