<p class="bodyText">A nested subweb allows you to limit control to documents placed within the subweb, which is nothing more than a new folder/directory created inside your public_html.</p>
<p class="bodyText">To do this, you'll create a new folder, name it, and convert it to a subweb. Then, you will change the folder's permissions -- this is where you list the users who will have access to the files. As the "administrator," you will also assign a password to the users.</p>
<h3 class="bodyText">Create, Name, and Convert a Folder</h3>
<ol class="oList">
<li>Select <em>View > Page</em></li>
<li>Select File > New > Folder.</li>
<li>Name the New Folder</li>
<li>Click the folder.</li>
<li>In the Folder List (<em>View > Folders</em>), right-click the folder you created and select "<strong>Convert to Web."</strong></li>
<li>Open the subweb. <small>Note:</small> It is very important that you open the subweb before going to the next section. Failure to do so will lock up your entire web site.</li>

<h3 class="bodyText">Change Security Permissions and Create Users/Passwords List</h3>
<p class="bodyText">In order to change the permissions on a subweb, you must have the <a href="/id0900b40a800d5b20">FrontPage Server Extensions</a> installed in your frank directory.</p>

<li>Select the subweb on which you want to change permissions.</li>
<li>Select <em>Tools > Security > Permissions</em>.</li>
<li>On the "Settings" tab, select "Use unique permissions for this web"</li>
<li>On the "Users" tab, select "Only registered users have browse access."</li>
<li>Select "Add..."</li>
<li>Enter the User's name, up to 128 characters</li>
<li>Assign the user a password, using letters and/or numbers. Punctuation is allowed; spaces are not. The passwords are case-sensitive.</li>
<li>Select "Browse this Web" to allow the user read-only access.</li>
<li>Select "OK"</li>
<li>Selecting the "Computers" tab allows you to assign access rights to an IP mask.</li>
