Faculty Instructional Technology Center

ITD: Instructional Technology, located in the ITD Faculty Instructional Technology Center, Telecommunications Building, assists Middle Tennessee State University faculty with the creation of technology-based instructional materials for their courses, including:

  • Desire2Learn (D2L)
  • web-enhanced or web-based course activities
  • multimedia presentations
  • creating and editing digital video clips
  • animating digital images
  • digitizing and editing images and sounds
  • authoring presentations and computer-based training modules
  • "burning" recordable (CD-R) and rewritable (CD-RW) CDs
  • creating instructional technology-related Web pages

Who may use ITD Instructional Technology?

Only faculty may use ITD: Instructional Technology. Student assistants working on faculty projects may use the center with written permission from a faculty member. Download the permission form...

Faculty may work on their own, or with hardware and software support services from the ITD: Instructional Technology staff. For more information check out the complete list of policies and procedures.

Equipment and resources

ITD's Faculty Instructional Technology Center houses six development stations (4 PC and 2 Mac). Hardware and software is available for

  • creating and editing digital movies, animation, QT virtual reality, still images, and sounds;
  • authoring presentations and computer-based training applications;
  • and recording CD-ROMs.

With a connection to the campus network and the Internet, ITD: Instructional Technology also provides facilities for transferring files, browsing the Web, and creating home pages. A digital still camera and video camera are available for check-out.
