Every student and employee is issued an ID. This single card serves numerous purposes from identification to meal plan card to library card to debit card. A single ID card that can replace multiple cards, cash, coins, and checks and can provide automated services increases the convenience and safety of campus life for MTSU students and employees.
And because the ID system interacts with campus databases, privileges and services are based on up-to-date student and employee status. If a student withdraws from the university or graduates or an employee leaves or retires, the card is coded inactive.
Raider Funds is the debit card feature of the ID system. Students and employees may deposit money in their personal Raider Fund account and then use their BlueID card to pay for fees and meals, to purchase books, supplies, and personal items at the bookstore, and in vending machines, photocopiers, and laundry machines.
The MTSU BlueID Card Office is proud to announce the new BlueID WebCard Center. The BlueID WebCard Center is a secure web application that lets you manage your MTSU BlueID card. With it you can:
V isit the BlueID WebCard Center at http://blueid.mtsu.edu. Simply log in using your PipelineMT username and password.
The BlueID office is located in room 306 of the James Union Building. The office is open 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Photos are also made in Kirksey Old Main, Room 126 B from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday. Students and staff who need new cards or need to replace lost cards should go to the James Union Building, Room 306 or Kirksey Old Main, Room 126 B offices. There is a ten dollar charge for the replacement of lost cards which can be paid by cash or check.
The card identifies MTSU students and full-time faculty and staff for access to campus services and privileges. With the BlueID card, you can check out books at the MTSU Library, be admitted to the Student Recreation Center and campus computer labs, cash checks, and buy tickets to campus events.
In addition, students can use the card to receive student health services, vote in student government elections, use student meal plans, and be admitted to residence halls. Note that students need the MTSU BlueID card to pick up any financial aid checks as well.
The ID card carries a video image of you. Not just a photograph, the video image is stored along with your information in the ID system and is printed right on your card.
The card shows your name and your designation as either student, faculty, or staff.
A magnetic strip on the back of the card enables the card to be "swiped" through card readers and helps to link identifying information with access to services.
Because the ID system interacts with campus databases, privileges and services are based on up-to-date student and employee status. If a student withdraws or graduates or an employee leaves, the card is coded inactive. Student IDs are automatically validated in the system when all fees are paid.
With Raider Funds, the BlueID card becomes a debit card. Just deposit money into a Raider Funds account, then use your card rather than cash or checks for purchases at Phillips Bookstore, to pay registration fees, do your laundry, buy a snack or soft drink at most campus vending machines, or to purchase meals at any of the food service locations on campus.
(Note that Raider Funds accounts are separate from meal plan accounts, although Raider Funds can be used to purchase a meal plan.)
When you make a purchase using your BlueID, your card is run through a card reader and the amount of the purchase is deducted from your Raider Funds account. Your Raider Funds balance is displayed after each purchase so you can keep up with how much money you have left on your card.
To activate a Raider Funds account, go to the cashier windows in the Cope Administration Building.
Your Raider Funds money is safe. If you lose your BlueID card, the card will be invalidated as soon as you report the loss by calling the ID office at (615) 898- 5523, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. After hours, report the loss to MTSU Public Safety. Then come by the ID office during our regular office hours to have a replacement card made. There is a $10 fee for replacement of lost or stolen IDs.
The BlueID office is located in room 306 of the James Union Building. (You'll find the James Union Building at the Middle Tennessee Blvd. and Bell Street intersection.)
Hours at the ID office are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
