In alternate years MTSU sponsors a major academic conference in the field of Women's Studies. It features prominent keynote speakers, participatory "break-out" sessions, and traditional academic papers from a variety of disciplines grouped around a theme of "Women and Power." The MTSU Women's Studies Conference solicits national participation from scholars in all academic fields who are engaged in research on women in order to make the conference an important contribution to the field of Women's Studies.
