Disciplinary Process: Retention of Records

Disciplinary files developed will be voided if the student is not found to be responsible for a rules violation. A permanent file will be maintained if a student is suspended or expelled as a result of his/her being found to be responsible for a rules violation. No reference to the suspension or expulsion will be made on the student’s transcript unless the sanction so specifies.

Files developed in cases in which a lesser sanction has been imposed will be retained for a period of five (5) years after date of action unless the sanction specifies that it should be retained for a longer period.

Mediation

What is mediation?

Mediation is a process in which a neutral third party (mediator) facilitates the discussion and identification of issues between the disputants, the development of alternate solutions, and the negotiation of a mutually satisfying outcome to the dispute.
