The MTSU Distance Learning Test Center provides exam services for students taking MTSU online, correspondence, and RODP classes. The Test Center is located in Kirksey Old Main (KOM) room 126.
Students who cannot attend a scheduled exam due to extenuating circumstances (class or exam conflict, work, childcare difficulties, etc.) may, with approval of their instructor, reschedule the exam through the Distance Learning Test Center.
To schedule an exam, go to www.mtsu.edu/flextest and complete the appropriate form.
Taking Exams at the Test Center
- Students MUST show their student ID or driver's license. Students WILL NOT be allowed to take an exam without providing a photo ID.
- Food, drink and children are NOT permitted in the Test Center.
- It is the student’s responsibility to make sure the exam is taken during the acceptable time period set forth by the instructor. These deadlines are posted on the Test Center website.
- Unless otherwise stated in an email confirmation, make-up exams will be held in the Kirksey Old Main (KOM) room 126. A map is provided at this link to assist you in locating Kirksey Old Main.
Taking Exams Off-campus
Students who live at least 50 miles from the MTSU Murfreesboro campus may secure an off-campus test proctor to administer the exam. Off-campus testing is only permitted at a testing center on a university/college campus or at a library. Exceptions can be made for active members of the military. Please call (615) 898-2743 if you have any questions about your chosen proctor.
Once a mutually convenient time has been agreed upon by student and proctor, completion of the appropriate form is necessary to have the exam sent off-campus. This information may be found at www.mtsu.edu/flextest or can be obtained by calling 615-898-2743. Students will be asked to provide the proctor’s name, e-mail, phone number, and the date of the exam. Arrangements should be made at least two weeks in advance, if possible.
Special Accommodations
Students who need special accommodations, may contact Disabled Student Services at 615-898-2783 for assistance and information. The Distance Learning Test Center should then be contacted at 615-898-2743 to have the exam(s) sent to Disabled Student Services.
