TBR Lana Doncaster Innovations Awards

The Lana Doncaster Innovations Awards recognizes the demonstrated success of creative and original activities in the distance learning field, including web courses, two-way audio/video courses and any form of computer-based course. Full-time and adjunct faculty, professional and technical staff, community leaders and friends of education are eligible. Each Tennessee Board of Regents institution selects its nominees, and award winners are announced at the annual TBR Distance Education Conference in February.

Certified Online Instructor (COI) Program

The Certified Online Instructor (or COI) designation was created to serve faculty in higher education who teach online and who want to gain recognition for their knowledge and skills in this area. The COI designation is earned through the Learning Resources Network (LERN) which is an international education association and the leading provider of online courses for faculty in higher education.

The Distance Learning Faculty Services Office began sponsoring MTSU faculty to participate in the COI Program in 2003. Since that time, 22 faculty have completed the program, and funding continues to be provided each year for additional participants. Please contact the Distance Learning Faculty Services Office (cladams@mtsu.edu or 615/904-8276) for more information about this program.
