Course Revision A revision fee is available to course designers who:
- wish to make substantial revisions to an existing RODP course; and
- sign a new, three-year contract (upon expiration of original contract).
A Revision Agreement may be requested by contacting MTSU’s Distance Learning Faculty Services Office at cladams@mtsu.edu.
Course Improvement Plan Additionally, the RODP provides a Course Improvement Plan Form which allows the course developer the opportunity to continually improve the effectiveness of his/her course by indicating the changes which should be made to improve the course, student performance, and instructor effectiveness. The form and the course designer’s improvement plan should be discussed with the department chair or dean and with MTSU’s RODP Curriculum Committee representative before submitting online.
Compensation A $1,000 fee is paid for substantial revisions to existing RODP courses (undergraduate and graduate) upon the expiration of the three-year development contract. Compensation cannot be paid if the course revisions are completed prior to contract approval.
Review/Approval Process Upon completion of the course, the course designer completes the Course Developer's Request for Review Form/Self-evaluation. Subsequently, the course is evaluated for technical merit and also undergoes a peer review.
Final Course Approval and Payment of Development Fees After the review process, the course designer is notified by the RODP that his/her course has been approved. The course designer should contact the Distance Learning Faculty Services Office (cladams@mtsu.edu or 904-8276) in order to receive revision compensation. The Faculty Services Office does not receive notification from the RODP when courses have received final approval.
Deadlines for Course Completion Deadlines for completion of course materials are as follows:
November 1 - Spring Semester; April 1 - Summer Semester; July 1 - Fall Semester.
