Overview


The Master of Professional Studies (MPS) is an interdisciplinary graduate degree program in the social sciences and the professions.  The 33-hour MPS program is designed for working adults who wish to pursue graduate professional studies that combine two or more disciplines.

The Master of Professional Studies has two concentrations with additional sub-specializations.  The concentrations are:

Strategic Leadership – This concentration prepares you to lead in today's rapidly changing professional environment.  This graduate professional studies degree consists of 33 hours of interdisciplinary coursework in the areas of leadership, communication, strategic planning and assessment, organizational structure and research/data analysis. learn more

Training and Development – This concentration consists of 33 hours of interdisciplinary coursework and is designed to prepare you to teach adults in the corporate training environment and is based on the American Society for Training and Development E-Learning Competencies.  The Training and Development concentration has two areas of specialization

  • The Onsite Training specialization will prepare individuals to develop, manage, and assess onsite or classroom training programs
  • The Distance Training specialization will address the needs of human resource professionals who are increasingly relying on technology to deliver workforce education.

Each program consists of 9 hours of core requirements, 21 hours directly related to your chosen concentration, and a 3 hour culminating project.

The MPS is designed to affordably and flexibly meet the needs of working adults who are not generally served by traditional methods. This unique program is taught by professors who are best suited to help you develop the skills necessary to excel in your career field and this program is offered completely online and available 24/7.
