MTSU has joined hands with iStudySmart.com to provide a means for students to earn college credit without attending the traditional classroom.
With iStudySmart.com’s in-depth courses, students can prepare for CLEP and DSST proficiency exams that are worth college credit. For years, MTSU has offered credit for many CLEP and DSST exams. Now iStudySmart.com makes it possible for students to prepare for over 60 different exams in the convenience of their homes.
iStudySmart.com’s courses map to both CLEP and DSST exams and help the student demonstrate knowledge equivalent to one- or two-semester-hour classes. Over a million semester-hour credits were earned by proficiency exam in the U.S. last year alone.
The MTSU testing center will provide the testing services required to CLEP exams. Please click here to see a list of the courses that are qualified for CLEP testing at MTSU.

- Buy the study course (Internet, CD-ROM, or Workbook version) and the accompanying textbook(s).
- Study the assignments at your own pace and in your own space. iStudySmart.com works with your schedule and life.
- Take the sample exam to test your knowledge.
- When you are ready, take the CLEP or DSST exam at the testing center.
