College of Liberal Arts Graduation Information
Graduation is not automatic upon the completion of requirements. You need to take
the initiative and follow the quick graduation check list (below). Although you are
ultimately responsible for completing all degree requirements, assistance is available
through faculty advisement, the College Advisors, and the Graduation Coordinator. Meeting regularly with an academic advisor will help alleviate graduation problems
All students must file an upper-division form and an intent to graduate form at least three semesters before their anticipated graduation date. For example, if you plan on graduating Spring 2021 then you should turn in your upper division form and intent to graduate form by the end of Spring 2020. By turning in these forms early the graduation coordinator will be able to review your degree progress and determine if there are any additional courses that you may need. Failure to turn in these forms by the recommended date may cause you to take an additional semester if you have not taken the required courses.
Any or all undergraduate students may be required, as a prerequisite to graduation, to take one or more tests designed to measure general education achievement and achievement in the major areas for the purpose of evaluating academic programs. Quick Graduation Check List
- Two or three semesters before your anticipated graduation date meet with your advisor to complete your upper division form and intent to graduate form.
- Obtain all required signatures for your upper division form.
- If you are majoring within the College of Liberal Arts turn in the signed upper division form and the intent to graduate form to the College of Liberal Arts Advising Office - Jones Hall room 152.
- Once your paperwork has been submitted the graduation analyst will review your file and email you an official degree check.
- Review official degree check to make sure there are no additional courses that you must take (beyond what you are already aware of). If there are any additional courses please contact your advisor to review your upper division form.
- Participate in the graduation ceremony held at the end of each semester (review general graduation information website).
- After verification of all degree requirements, a diploma will be mailed to you.

Oral History Association have opened at MTSU and will be here for the next five years.
