with new freshmen and transfer students, but assists all students within the College.
She reviews student overload, course substitution and Academic Fresh Start requests
before final approval. Judy primarily works with students whose last names begin with A through L; however,
she will see any student that needs assistance. PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND Judy graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in Liberal Studies from Northern Arizona
University in 2003. She received her Master's of Education in Counseling from NAU
in 2005. As an undergraduate she was able to experience being a transfer student,
working full time while taking courses, and changing majors at least three times.
She understands that some students need time and direction before finding a path that
best fits their interests and excelling academically. She has prior counseling experience
working as a financial counselor with Money Management International, and has also
worked as a English department secretary at Northern Arizona University. She started
advising for the College of Liberal Arts in April of 2006. PERSONAL INFORMATION Judy is married to Dr. Mohammed Albakry, an associate professor in the English Department
at MTSU. They have two children, Sami & Amanda.

she will see any student that needs assistance. PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND Lucy graduated with Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees, both in English,
from Mississippi College. After working as an Admissions Counselor for Mississippi
College, a technical writer in the merchandising industry, and college English instructor,
she found that her passion was for higher education and returned to the university
to continue her education. She received her Ph.D. in English with an emphasis in Technical
Communication from Oklahoma State University in 1989. Since then, she has lived in
Tennessee where she has taught various literature and writing classes at Vanderbilt
University, Cumberland University, and Middle Tennessee State University. She assumed
the role of Academic Advisor in February of 2006 and enjoys the challenges and opportunities
that go with coaching students through the college experience.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Lucy is married to Dr. Warren Langworthy, a Family Practitioner in Murfreesboro. She
enjoys reading, running, and the various activities of her three children, Megan,
Lara, and John Ross.
