Development Initiatives

With encouragement and support from the MTSU Office of Development and University Relations, the College of Liberal Arts is undertaking the following initiatives, which we hope to underwrite with private funding from alumni, friends, and even strangers. I hope that you will agree that these initiatives warrant your support.

• STUDENT ENRICHMENT
  Aid students in travel and associated costs to pursue educational opportunities such as invited presentations at conferences, juried musical performances, and invited trips to educational sites for hands on learning experiences.
  
• LECTURESHIP & PERFORMANCE SERIES
  Aid in funding lectures, performances, exhibits, and enrichment activities otherwise beyond our present funding capabilities.
  
• DEAN'S AWARD
  Monetary award given to the CLA student who best meets guidelines of outstanding initiative and demonstrated need. Award would go to a gifted student who is, for one reason or another, ineligible for other funded university support.
  
• CLA PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
  Given to a faculty member who has gone above and beyond the "call of duty" in teaching and advising our students. The monetary award will be presented in the faculty member's name and be given to the respective department to aid in the cost of projects initiated by the award-winning faculty member.
