Cross Cultural Perspectives in Leisure & Tourism

Stay tuned for news about this and other study abroad opportunities in RLS!

Earn college credit as we visit Ireland, France, and Italy and study tourism and leisure through a cross-cultural perspective. The great city parks like St. Stephen's Green (Dublin), Bois de Boulogne (Paris), and Villa Borghese (Rome) will allow us observe the everyday leisure behaviors of people in other countries and cultures. Enjoy classic tourist sites like the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Colosseum in Rome. Visits to selected national parks and world heritage sites will allow us to observe first-hand the different approaches to preservation and interpretation. And visits to some of the most famous museums and historical sites in the world will provide opportunities to gain a better understanding of tourism within the scope of recreation and leisure services.
