Undergraduate Curriculum
The major in Leisure, Sport, and Tourism Studies provides knowledge, skills, and experiences for students interested in preparing
for positions in the recreation and leisure services profession. The major offers
a general core accredited through the National Recreation and Parks Association. Students
may choose 5 courses from tracks in Recreation Administration, Outdoor Recreation, Sport Studies, and Tourism
Studies. See below for a list of core requirements and optional emphasis area courses. All LSTS
majors are required to complete a 100 hour field studies requirement and a 480 hour

Who We Are!
The Leisure, Sport, and Tourism Studies major is located in the department of Health
& Human Performance. The goal of our major is to prepare students to enter professional
settings that facilitate an optimal quality of life for diverse citizens through the
provision of leisure, sport, and tourism services.
