Biography
Dr. Roy's teaching interests include principles of marketing, promotion, sports marketing, and product management. His promotion and sports marketing courses, offered as part of MTSU's EXL Scholars Program, focus on partnering with local businesses to provide students hands-on learning opportunities. Recognition for Dr. Roy's teaching includes the 2002 Gamma Iota Sigma Professor of the Year Award and the 2007 Marketing Management Association Master Teacher Award.
Dr. Roy's research interests focus on sponsorship, sports marketing, and brand management.
He has published articles in the Journal of Advertising, Psychology & Marketing, Services Marketing Quarterly, Sport
Marketing Quarters, Journal of Sports Management, Journal of Product & Brand Management, & the International Journal of Sports Marketing & Sponsorship. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, Direct Marketing Educational Foundation, Marketing Management Association, and the Society for Marketing Advances.
Dr. Roy earned his B.B.A. from Mississippi State University, M.B.A. from Mississippi
College, and Ph.D. from the University Memphis. An associate professor of marketing,
he joined the MTSU Management and Marketing Department in 2000.
