Faculty Fellows

The Learning, Teaching, and Innovative Technologies Center (LTITC) was established in the fall of 2004 to create a community of faculty who develop, improve, and integrate creative and effective use of appropriate pedagogy and technologies to enhance student learning.  On the forefront of this initiative are faculty whose scholarly interest in teaching/learning can be transformed  exciting classroom experiences and outcomes.  More important, faculty fellows share their insights by networking with peers, striving to maintain strong teaching standards on campus and to support the academic community.
 

LTITC Faculty Fellow Position

Faculty fellows currently receive 3 hours of reassigned time for the fall and spring semesters.   Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating roundtable discussions
  • Conducting faculty focus groups
  • Holding informal chats with colleagues (face-to-face or online)
  • Developing topics for seminars and workshops
  • Answering questions and/or directing faculty to appropriate resources
  • Promoting the Center
  • Acting as liaison on faculty issues
  • Proving input on the Center's performance and activities
  • Writing articles for SourceLink, the center's biannual newsletter.

SOTL Fellow Position

Fellows meet monthly with the directors and staff to exchange ideas and offer suggestions on how to improve the teaching learning experience on campus and how to best provide support to their colleagues.  Fellows attend the Center's workshops, providing feedback , supporting presenters, and ensuring positive outcomes.  Most important, we encourage the fellows to use their reassigned time to explore new ideas, reflect on strategies for introducing the innovative to their peers, to formulate a question and provide a solution so that their experience as a fellow is one of personal and professional growth and therefore memorable.      

The Center enriches fellowships by sponsoring travel to academic conferences on teaching--the POD Conference, the Teaching Professor, SRFIDC and others.
