Grants, Internships, Opportunities Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) The Center supports faculty development and is committed to ensuring that all MTSU faculty have access to opportunities that can shape their growth as a professional. Each year the Center reaches out to faculty whose desire for growth can be nurtured with just the right kind of opportunity or support. In 2007, the Center, sometimes in partnership with other departments, sponsored the travel of nearly 10 faculty from diverse fields to academic conferences designed to strengthen professional skills. Their experiences benefit not only themselves but also their colleagues, their students, and ultimately MTSU itself, as it is perceived as an academy of quality and innovation. The Agent for Teaching & Learning Excellence We are here to support all faculty: new, experienced, tenured. We work with all departments and colleges to increase awareness of faculty development opportunities within and outside the university. We are committed to recognizing teaching excellence and rewarding it appropriately. We are committed to building the kind of strong collaborative networks that today's professional educator needs to be effective in the classroom and collegial in the academic community.
