  • Dr. Joseph Schloss will give a lecture titled "How Leonard Bernstein Invented Hip-Hop: Popular Culture, Genre Boundaries, and the Mythologies of Hip-Hop Scholarship" on Thursday, September 6 at 4:30 pm in BAS 260. Dr. Schloss is the author of "Foundation: B-Boys, B-Girls and Hip-Hop Culture in New York" (2009), "Making Beats: The Art of Sample-Based Hip-Hop" (2004), and co-author of "Rock: Music, Culture, and Business" (2012).

  • Elisha Hodge, Open Records Counsel for the state of Tennessee, will make a presentation on open records in the state and answer questions on Tuesday, September 11 at 6:30 pm in the College of Mass Communication building room 104.
