Re-accreditation

In fall 2010 a site team of the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication will be visiting our College to review and assess our undergraduate programs in Journalism and Electronic Media Communication and our M.S. in Mass Communication as part of our re-accreditation process.  In preparation for that visit, we are required to conduct a self-study during the year prior to the visit.  The self-study focuses on the nine areas of accreditation:

  • Mission, Governance and Administration

  • Curriculum and Instruction

  • Diversity and Inclusiveness

  • Full Time and Part Time Faculty

  • Scholarship: Research, Creative and Professional Activity

  • Student Services

  • Resources, Facilities and Equipment

  • Professional and Public Service

  • Assessment of Learning Outcomes

Dr. Jan Quarles, Professor of Electronic Media Communication, has graciously agreed to serve as Chair of the Self-Study Committee.  Dr. Quarles has served on several ACEJMC site teams that have visited other programs across the country.  The other members of the committee include: Dr. Clare Bratten (Electronic Media Communication), Dr. Dennis Oneal (Electronic Media Communication), Dr. Zeny Panol (Journalism), Dr. Ken Blake (Journalism), Dr, David Badger (Journalism), Dr. John Omachonu (Associate Dean) and Prof. Dan Pfeifer (Recording Industry).
