Bob Pondillo
Work on my latest short film continues, and is
just about finished. I wrote and directed a narrative short
in 2010 titled THE MIRACLES ON HONEY BEE HILL -- the most ambitious
little movie we've ever tried to pull off here at MTSU. It's
loaded with computer animation, which is what's taking so
long. It should be ready for release to the general public
(and film festivals) by the new year (or before.) It features
an all-child cast in a story that's told like a fairy tale, but
deals with several controversial issues of our time. Last
year (2010) the screenplay itself won "Special Achievement in Short
Form Screenwriting Award" from the SOCAL Film Festival in
Huntington Beach, CA.
Dr. Bob Wood, from the RI Department, is working on the musical
score, several RI MFA students are helping with sound effects and
sound/mixing design. The film itself was produced by
the MTSU FILM GUILD, a student organization that provided more than
30 undergrads and grad students in pro-production, set construction
and filming. Recent grad Diana Rice produced the film, and
despite having graduated, still helms the project! Many
thanks to undergrads David Kamp and Scott Johnson who worked
tireless hours on computer animation and rendering...of a concept
and design by Prof. Kevin McNulty of the MTSU Computer Animation
sequence (part of the EMC Department). So this is clearly a
major effort!
