Amber Hurdle oversees the internal communications, employee
(STAR) events, activities, recognition and STAR-driven
non-profit initiatives for
the largest non-gaming facility in the
continental United States, Gaylord Opryland Resort &
Convention Center, as well as its attractions:
Gaylord Springs Golf, General Jackson
Showboat, Wildhorse Saloon and Radisson Hotel.
Prior to joining Gaylord, Hurdle created
and managed Planit Nashville, an event planning and promotions
company focused on experiential marketing and promotional
events in the country music industry and corporate arena. She
also has a wide variety of alumni engagement experience having
served as Director of Annual Giving at the Terry College of
Business at the University of Georgia, as well as various
positions within Cumberland University's Office of
Advancement.
Hurdle is married with a daughter, son and surviving
step-daughter. She volunteers her time with a variety of local
professional organizations and charities, including the Anna
Brooke Hurdle Foundation, a 501c3 created in memory of her late
step-daughter to support disadvantaged youth, both locally and
through targeted efforts in Swaziland Africa. Hurdle earned a
bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University
with a major in Mass Communication and an emphasis in Public
Relations. Since graduating, she has continually mentored
students interested in pursuing a career in
Communications.
