Roger Heinrich, Associate Professor of the Department of Electronic
Media Communication, earned his B.A. in Communication and his
Master of Mass Communication from Arizona State University. He
received his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of
Tennessee - Knoxville. After a 26-year career in all aspects of
commericial broadcasting, Dr. Heinrich joined the faculty of Middle
Tennessee State University in August 2001. He specializes in
broadcast journalism, media management and broadcast performance
and also serves on the University Honors faculty and the Graduate
faculty. Dr. Heinrich's research interests include the history of
electronic media, sports and its impact on electronic media and
broadcasting pioneers. He has been published in the
Journal of Arizona History, Mandamorgen, American Journalism,
Journalism History and
The Encyclopedia of the First Amendment. His creative
activity has garnered five international awards including an "Award
of Excellence" and two "Awards of Distinction" from the
Communicator Awards; he was the 2006 winner of a "Gold" Marcom
Creative Award and earned the "Gold Hermes Creative Award" from the
Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals in 2007.
For the past several years, Dr. Heinrich has reported on games of
interest in the National Football League as part of the Titans
Radio Network's Production of "Game-Day."
