LEADERS TRAINING COURSE
Leaders Training Course (LTC)
The course is an exciting 28-day training and leadership
development program, which will qualify you to enter the Army
Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC). LTC is conducted
during the months of June and July at Fort Knox, KY. This is
not basic training; however, some basic military skills are
taught in a physically and mentally challenging environment.
The main focus is to give you an opportunity to learn and
practice leadership skills. It prepares you to enter the
Advanced Army ROTC program and start your way towards a
commission in the United States Army, Army Reserves, or Army
National Guard.
Scholarships and Benefits:
All qualified applicants attending LTC will earn the
opportunity for an Army ROTC two-year scholarship. Scholarships
pay full tuition and $1,200 for books per year here at MTSU and
include a $450/month stipend during junior year and a
$500/month stipend during senior year. You must contract with
ROTC to receive the scholarship. While at Fort Knox, Kentucky,
you will receive pay for the completion of course of about
$750, 3 meals a day, free lodging, and travel to and from Fort
Knox.
Qualifications for LTC
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be between the ages of 17 and 27 (age waiver to age
30)
- Be enrolled in college full-time in pursuit of a
baccalaureate or advanced degree and have at least 2 years
remaining in school
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Have no civil convictions (unless waiver is
approved)
- Have no more than 3 dependents
- Be of good moral character
- Be willing to sign a conditional contract
