Welcome to MTSU's academic advising online training. This website is designed to
provide information about academic advising at MTSU and to serve as a resource tool
to assist you in enhancing your skills as a faculty advisor. We encourage you to complete
all of the modules, especially if you are a new faculty advisor, and then to use the
site as a resource from that point.
The manual is composed of two modules. Module 1 addresses advising issues related to the five colleges at MTSU - College of Basic and Applied Sciences, College of Business, College of Education and Behavioral Science, College of Liberal Arts, and College of Mass Communication. Please select your appropriate college for college specific advising information. To better assist students, a PipelineMT demonstration is also available. Module 2 reviews issues related to ACT/COMPASS prescribed courses, the Regents Online Degree Program (RODP), and how to address issues related to Financial Aid. Module 3 provides information concerning transfer advising.
Each module begins with an overview of the specific college or department. Following the overview, reflections for thought are presented in question format for your consideration. After completing the reflections for thought, a certificate is generated to verify completion of each module. Print off the certificates for Module 1, Module 2 and Module 3 so that these items will be included in your tenure/promotion materials and annual review.
Please note the training modules are viewed best with Internet Explorer (version 6.0 or higher).
Again, we hope this website will serve as a valuable resource for you. We welcome your feedback and suggestions . Thank you!
