Academic Enrichment (Cont'd)

Special Student Situations

  1. A student may NOT drop an ACT/COMPASS prescribed course. The Director of the Academic Enrichment Office rarely grants exceptions. You may contact the Academic Enrichment Department at 615-898-2568 or Peck Hall 202.
  2. Instructors are to alert the Academic Support Center at the first sign of “student distress.” The ASC advisors will contact those students to assist the students in whatever way possible (i.e. refer to academic labs, Counseling Center, etc.)
  3. If the student is passing until the last week or so and has an unavoidable problem which prevents him/her from completing the course, then the instructor and Chairperson must decide together whether or not the situation dictates the grade of Incomplete (I). The class must be completed during the succeeding semester, excluding summer. Otherwise, the grade of F is entered for the course. The student should be encouraged to complete the course within the first few weeks of the next semester.
