The Department of Social Work offers a Bachelor of Social Work degree, which is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Social Work prepares and trains students for many careers. Teaching, corrections, industrial relations, personnel, journalism, religion, gerontology, foreign service, applied anthropology, human services, and research are all fields involving aspects of social work.

Students must be formally admitted to the Social Work Program in order to obtain a Bachelor of Social Work degree. Requirements for admission are listed in the 2004 MTSU Undergraduate Catalog on page 285.
