History Amy Sayward, Chair, Peck Hall 223, 898-2536 The Department of History offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in History (non-teaching) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with Teacher Licensure. Students are required to take courses in United States, European and global history. History – Students majoring in History can prepare for careers as historians, lawyers, government employees, media personnel, museum curators, archivists and teachers, as well as other fields. Twelve credit hours of foreign language are required by students majoring in History or History Licensure. History Teacher Licensure prepares students to teach History in secondary schools (Grades 7-12). Students must be admitted to the Teacher Licensure program with a 2.5 GPA.
