Honors College

Qualified students are encouraged to participate in the Honors College. Emphasis is on excellence and enrichment, combining the best features of the small college with the scope and resources of a larger university. Among the benefits of Honors classes are small class size, faculty selected from the leading scholars in the university, specially designed courses (including general studies and departmental courses), and interdisciplinary seminars unique to the Honors College.

Requirements for admission to the Honor's College is as follows:

  • To be admitted as an entering freshman to the University Honors College, a student must have a minimum ACT composite score of 25 (SAT equivalent 1130 to 1160) and at least a 3.5 high school GPA (effective Summer 2006)
      
  • Once a student has established a university GPA, he or she must maintain at least a 3.25 (cumulative) to stay in the College and enroll in Honors courses. Transfer students must also have a cumulative 3.25 GPA to be eligible to enroll in Honors courses (effective Summer 2006)..
