Role of Faculty Advisor The Stage is Set
Faculty advising takes place within a university-wide framework of advising and general support for the student. By the time an MTSU student has been assigned a faculty advisor in their major, it’s likely they’ve seen advisors specializing in work with undeclared students, a career counselor, and as the student narrows down a specific major, an advisor specializing in the college in which the student’s prospective major is embedded. The student has also had opportunities to take advantage of other sources of support and development such as the services offered by the departments within the Division Of Student Affairs. Due to the number of services offered for student support, the faculty advisor and his or her advisee can focus exclusively on academic concerns and the mentoring needs of the student. |
