Role of Faculty Advisor Facilitating Use Of On-Campus Services
Knowing when and how to refer a student for other services can help a student considerably. In the section of this guide concerning referral sources there are descriptions of and contact information for the services available for students. For instance, your advisee might be facing a situation for which personal counseling could help, and referring them for the service would be within the scope of advising. Other common referrals are to the Cooperative Education program so the student can get work experience, to career counseling at Academic Support Services for the student still finding their prospective niche, or for job placement help at Career & Employment Center where they can develop a resume and post it for recruiters. |
