Role of Faculty Advisor Documentation
Keeping track of student progress in the advising relationship helps both the advisor and the student. A brief note or AdvisorTrac entry created after the advising session can serve as a reminder for the advisor for follow-up topics at the next advising session. It helps the student by helping ensure continuity of the advising relationship by allowing the advisor to hold the student accountable for completing the “assignments” given by his or her advisor. The note might also mention significant aspects of the student’s interests, hobbies, work life, etc., so the advisor can have those details in mind at the outset of future meetings. |
