Module 2: Advising Academic Enrichment
Registering for General Education Courses with ACT/SAT or COMPASS Prescribed Prerequisites
Every student at MTSU has to complete 41 credit hours of general studies requirements prior to graduation. Some of these courses require ACT/SAT or COMPASS prescribed courses as prerequisites. For example, Biology has the following prerequisites: ENGL 1009K, READ 1000K, MATH 1000K, Math 1010K and Math 1710K. So, if you are required to take ENGL 1009K, you would need to wait until you finish the writing class before you register for Biology. Be sure to look on the next page for a complete listing of the General Studies requirements that have ACT/SAT or COMPASS prescribed prerequisites. If you are required to take a ACT/SAT or COMPASS prescribed course, you must enroll in it your first semester.
