MTSU Faculty Advising

Module 3: Transfer Advising
Getting Started

< previous

What would you need to know if you were a transfer student? The frequently asked questions are: What coursework transferred? What classes do I need? When do I get to register?

The new transfer student must complete a series of steps to enroll in classes at MTSU including Transfer CUSTOMS Online, an advising appointment, and registering on RaiderNet.

These steps may be helpful in your own advising process:

Confirm the student’s status prior to making the appointment.
Check and make sure that the student has been admitted and their transcripts have been evaluated by the Admissions Office. If the transcripts have not been evaluated, remind students to bring a copy with them or you can contact the Admissions Office for a copy.

Ask why the student has decided to come to MTSU.
A student may have a misunderstanding about what is offered at MTSU or may simply be in the wrong department or college.
