The Transfer Student at MTSU is not unlike other transfer students across the nation. Transfer students make up a significant and growing part of the MTSU undergraduate population (46%). The following profile illustrates the special needs and increased efforts necessary to advise and mentor the student to the new campus culture.

  • More likely to be older than native students.
  • More likely to be a sophomore or higher in credit hours earned.
  • More likely to be first generation.
  • More likely to be a commuter student.
  • Less likely to be involved in campus than native students.
