This initiative involves

  1. increasing students’ awareness of integrative learning opportunities in the form of beyond-the-classroom experiences and
  2. supporting their integrative learning.

Database of Beyond-the-Classroom Experiences Coming Soon!!

A searchable database consisting of high impact beyond-the-classroom experiences will be developed and maintained to provide students greater awareness of available beyond-the-classroom activities. This database will include a general list of academic and student affairs experiences (e.g., student organizations, student leadership, volunteering), and Division of Business and Finance experiences (e.g., internships in Environmental Health and Safety and Center for Energy Efficiency and service opportunities with Center for Energy Efficiency/Recycling) as well as suggested activities for students by major (e.g., internships, research experiences, education abroad, tutoring opportunities).

MT Engage Week Fall 2017 Details Coming Soon

MT Engage Week 2016 was a huge success and plans are already underway for Fall 2017.  During this week, MT Engage will cosponsor an event with each college, as well as with the Office of Student Affairs, to highlight opportunities for academic engagement and integrative learning.

ePortfolio Begins Fall 2016

One unifying experience is the creation of an ePortfolio by students so that they can integrate and reflect on their experiences. Support for students completing the Sophomore and Senior ePortfolio will be provided by the MT Engage Office, as well as the Career Development Center, the University Writing Center, and the Library's Digital Media Studio and Library Technology Services (LTS). These offices are uniquely suited to support students in the development of the ePortfolio and joint workshops will be conducted and students will have the ability to meet one-on-one to receive assistance.  Students can also enroll in one-on-one sessions with the LTS Tech Coach for personalized training.

Opportunities

The Facilities Service department at MTSU embraces the MT Engage program by providing experience and service based learning opportunities through volunteering, events, student workers positions and internships.
