MT Lambda

Welcome to the official website for the MTSU Lambda Association—a safe, secure, and accepting environment for everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community at MTSU. Allies are always welcome, too!

Founded in 1988, MT Lambda is the oldest LGBTQIA+ higher education student organization in the state of Tennessee. We have shaped our mission statement around four equally important goals: Political Activism, Education on LGBTQIA+ Issues, Community Engagement, and Social Support.

What does that mean?

Political Activism: MT Lambda advocates for the rights of all LGBTQIA+ students at Middle Tennessee State University. Whereas MT Lambda is not a partisan organization, MT Lambda may focus on issues that surround and drive the broader LGBTQIA+ community.

Education on LGBT+ Issues: MT Lambda educates all students at MTSU on issues surrounding the LGBTQIA+ community through an open and honest dialog that fosters equality and acceptance for all.

Community Engagement: MT Lambda is an engaged member of the MTSU campus community as well as the larger community of Middle Tennessee. Members of MT Lambda are expected to take part in annual MT Lambda activities and give back to their community through volunteering and service work.

Social Support: MT Lambda serves as a social outlet for its members as well as for LGBTQIA+ and other students at MTSU through various activities both on and off campus.

Lambda hosts weekly meetings and membership is open to all currently enrolled MTSU students who act in good faith of Lambda's Constitution and Community Standards. Membership dues are announced at the beginning of each academic year and can be paid at any time.
