Dr. Christine Kim
Associate Professor of Cello
An active soloist and chamber musician, cellist Christine Kim has performed for concert
series throughout the United States, including Da Camera of Houston, the Foundation
for Modern Music, and Musiqa. Kim has also appeared as a concerto soloist with the
La Crosse, Evanston, Madison, and Milwaukee Symphonies. As an orchestral musician,
Kim has performed with the New Hampshire Music Festival and the Tanglewood Music Center
orchestras.
Before joining the faculty at MTSU, Kim served as Visiting Assistant Professor of Cello at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She also taught for the Rice University Preparatory Program, as a recipient of the Brown Fellowship.
Kim received her Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston, where she studied with Paul Katz. She completed her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees at Rice University, under the tutelage of Norman Fischer.
