Dr. Tonya Lawson
Clarinet ,Genral Music
Tonya J. Lawson, holds a Bachelor of Music degree in education from Middle Tennessee
State University, a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance, and the Doctor
of Musical Arts degree from Texas Tech University. Lawson currently teaches applied
clarinet, woodwind methods, introduction to music, and elements of music courses.
She also serves on the staff at Father Ryan High School and Fayetteville Junior High
School.
As an active performer and researcher, Lawson performs with the Nashville Wind Ensemble, is a member of the board of directors for DOLCE chamber players, and in 2007, was a finalist in the International Clarinet Association Research Competition and was invited to present in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Lawson's primary teachers include David Shea, Todd Waldecker, Daniel Lochrie, John Duke, and Amy Anderson.
