George T. Riordan
Dr. George T. Riordan
Director: MTSU School of Music
George T. Riordan is director of the School of Music at Middle Tennessee State University.
Prior to his appointment at MTSU in 2003, Dr. Riordan served as Assistant Dean for
Public Service at the School (now College) of Music at Florida State University and
Director of the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, part of the Tanglewood Music
Center, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He also served on the faculties
of Lawrence University in Wisconsin and the University of Montana.
Riordan is a performing oboist specializing in 18th century period instruments. He regularly performs with Music City Baroque in Nashville and the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra.
